God Made Me Perfect
Yesterday was the Pride Parade in NYC. After the festivities friends of ours invited us to the West Village to join them & celebrate pride in style. I am still a little bitter that no one got me one of the “God Made Me Perfect” stickers.
I gotta tell you I don’t say this too often - but my mom was right. Sitting there last night and just taking it all in - it was a really great feeling to be welcomed the way we were.
At one point our friend said “they’re married..but we still hang out with them”, my reply was “whats wrong with married people?” & she looks at me “We can’t do it”
You know in life how you can be so completely aware of something and versed on the subject…but then one day something happens to take it to another level - making it so real & in your face that even if you wanted to you, would not be able to ignore it? Yeah well…that was my moment.
Pride in your life  - regardless of sexual orientation shouldn’t just happen on a Sunday afternoon in the West Village…it’s something we should put on every morning - like one of those stickers.
